Madilin's Last Day of Preschool

We went to visit a couple of preschools for next Fall back in February and March.  It was really quite fun, as Madilin would just make herself at home wherever we went.  After explaining that we were somewhat concerned about what kind of a mess she may be in the Fall when she starts due to all the (multiple) changes at home, we found out that our number one choice had an open spot in the 2 year old program.  We took advantage of starting her early (after many tears from Mommy) because we thought it would be best for her to start now.  Even though she has Summer break, we thought it would help her associate "school" as her thing, and not something she had to go to because of the babies.  Here are some pics of her first day:

As you can see, she hardly looked back.  Madilin loved school and I'm so glad she did, as it would've made it that much harder for me to let her go!  We are lucky enough that Matt is able to take her and I will only be picking her up (this will be super nice with 3 babies to load up this Fall!).  Madilin loves getting to ride with Daddy.  She puts her backpack on and out the door she goes saying, "Bye Mommy...have a good day!"  Too funny!

However, good things come to end...well, at least they have Summer break.  As hard as it was to send her, it was just as bittersweet for it to all come to an end for the Summer.  Madilin asks to go to school everyday, and while I'm not ready for that, I know how important school is for her.  It's "her" thing, the program is really great, the teachers are WONDERFUL, and I know I'm not able to play and do with her like I normally do.  I really enjoyed the break it gave me and I was able to squeeze in a few doctor's visits where I didn't have to drag her.  So it was hard for the year to end, especially now that it is getting harder and harder for me to keep up with Madilin!  Madilin's favorite activity at school...playing on the playground.  Love it!  Here are some pics from her last day...

Madilin doesn't quite understand Summer break.  At first I think she asked me everyday if she could go to school.  I think we've made progress...now she only asks about once a week!  We are definitely still eager for September!  The best part is that Madilin will have the same teachers she had this year.  We are so thankful for that!  What a sweet, big girl!

22 Week Update

Twenty-two weeks!  How exciting!  Everyone got a great report for this visit.  This visit was a little bit longer as they measure each of the babies.  They measure each little girl's arm bone, leg bone, head, belly, and...I think that's it!  That's a lot of measuring when it's done three times and you're trying to get everyone to cooperate!  Baby B and Baby C tend to be a little harder to work with, while Baby A keeps popping into everyone else's pictures.  Too funny!

Unfortunately, I can't really help anyone out on deciphering much out of this picture.

But, Steve (the Ultrasound Guy) promises there is a little bit of everyone in there somewhere!

Easter fun, hard work, and reality!

I've been super slack in keeping this thing updated...promises to do better!  I most certainly will try to do a good job when there are 3 cute little ones to post pictures of!

We've had a busy couple of weeks at our house.  My energy has picked up a good bit and I don't know if it's early nesting or just my OCD going crazy because I know it's time for spring cleaning, but I've been slave-driving around my house!  Easter weekend we "invited" my parents up to help us do some things around the house (I know...we are so nice).  Friday was spent with Matt, my dad, and Brad outside spreading mulch in all the flower beds and doing yard work. When Madilin was done helping and supervising them, she helped Nana with tasks inside including vacuuming and dusting.  (My baseboards look fabulous!..thanks Mom!)  On Saturday we went and picked up the furniture for the nursery.  It wasn't that big of a deal until we put the cribs together...more on that in a minute.  It was my goal to do all the hard work on Friday and Saturday so that we could enjoy Sunday.  Madilin was super excited about the Easter Bunny this year.  She talked about it for several weeks and told everyone she came in contact with that he was on his way to her house!  Too cute!  Imagine what Christmas will bring this year!

Unfortunately we couldn't convince my parents to come back for round two, so Matt and I tackled cleaning out the garage this weekend.  It was a lot of hard work, but it looks phenomenal.  The best part is everything is within reach (especially Madilin's toys) and we can park both cars inside!

Apparently Matt and I didn't work hard enough cleaning out the garage so we decided to put together three cribs.  It was late when we finished the second one, but Matt said he had to do the third!  They weren't that hard to put together, but the finished product sure was a reality check!  Take a look...

I'm not sure the reality of three on the way will sink in completely until they arrive, but this is quite an awakening every time I pass by their room!  It's snug, but functional, and definitely a work in progress.  I've been told numerous times by other moms of multiples to do things early because you never know what tomorrow may bring.  I'm determined not to be a huge burden on my family should I end up on bed rest, so I've been trying to do things ahead of time.  With Madilin, we were renting in West Palm, so her room wasn't what I'd always dreamed of...so I was determined this time around (and definitely now my last!) that I would do my best to enjoy doing the nursery.  We just didn't expect it to be for three!  So cribs and dresser are in place, I think we have picked out the bedding that we like, so now on to mattresses.  Slowly but surely we're doing things along...we find that helps financially too!  

And there is no way I would not update you about the three special blessings that are causing all of this commotion!  A week ago Matt and I went for a very lengthy ultrasound.  The purpose was to take a good look at each baby and make sure everyone was healthy.  They each got a great checkup from head to toe!  When Steve, the ultrasound guy, left the room to get the doctor, I think I teared up more over the good news that everyone was healthy than I did at the news there was 3!  I was very nervous going into that ultrasound, and to know that we have 3 perfect babies was such a blessing and many, many prayers of mine answered!  

And finally, the big news...poor Matt...we hope that he loves pink!  All three are GIRLS!  I'm thinking we should start a wedding fund for each along with a college fund!  Now on to picking out 3 girl names!

The ultrasound took about two and a half hours.  The best part was getting to see a glimpse at their little personalities already.  Baby A kept trying to get in the picture of the other babies when it was there turn.  We got the most pictures of her...she was definitely being very photogenic that day!  Baby B on the other hand was very camera shy.  She was a little uncooperative with Steve as well as he was trying to get all his measurements of her.  Baby C wasn't too excited for Steve to be looking too much at her either, but she did give us a nice wave there at the end.  

We are so thankful that everyone got a good report!
